SABEY

Margaret (James) Sabey passed away peacefully in her home in Magrath, Alberta on February 28, 2022 at the age of 100 years. She was predeceased by her parents, Edward and Elizabeth (Snowden) James; her husband Blair; and siblings George (Lil), Marg (Devar) Coleman, Ted (Vada), Audrey (Shelton) Ririe, and Beverly. Margaret Mary Sabey was born on May 18, 1921 in Grassy Lake, Alberta. She married her sweetheart Blair Sabey on November 12, 1942. Together they lived in the town of Magrath and were cherished by the entire community. It is a challenge to talk about one without the other. They were always together and their home was the centre of love and laughter. While they never had any children of their own, everyone that crossed their paths was taken in and made to feel important. They were known affectionately as Aunt Margaret and Uncle Blair not only to their many nieces and nephews, but by all who cared for them. When Blair passed in 2014 at the age of 94, they had been married for 71 years.

Aunt Margaret led a life of service. Always there to help anyone in need, she spent her life caring for those she loved. And if you knew her, you were loved by her. Stopping by to visit meant you were sure to leave not just feeling special, but with an armful of anything Aunt Margaret felt you needed. Everything she had was to be shared. Her legacy is truly one of kindness and love.

Surrounded always by dear friends and family, Aunt Margaret loved life and lived it to the fullest. Hers is the absolute epitome of “A Life Well Lived.” She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered. We love you Aunt Margaret.

A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 5, 2022 at the Magrath Cemetery, followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Stake Centre in Magrath.
