Hurricanes ends road trip with win

The Lethbridge Hurricanes concluded their seven-game road trip with a 5-2 win against the Moose Jaw Warriors on Saturday night.
Corson Hopwo kickstarted the Canes offence with his 11th of the season at 4:52 of the opening frame.
Kade Nolan would make it 2-0 for the visitors at 12:19 of the first.
The Warriors would cut in the lead in half at 13:25 with a goal off the stick of Jagger Firkus to make it 2-1 Hurricanes by the end of the first period.
It was over a minute into the second period that the Warriors tied the game up as Brayden Jager scored a shorthanded marker.
That was all the Warriors would produce offensively for the rest of the night as it was all Hurricanes the rest of the way.
Yegor Klavdiev scored the game winner at 3:25, followed by Justin Hall scoring a shorthanded marker at 13:34 and Brayden Edwards notched his second of the year at 5:25 of the third period.
Shots were 39-31 Hurricanes.
The Hurricanes went 1-for-4 on the powerplay and the Warriors scored once on three chances with the man advantage.
The Hurricanes finished with a 3-3-1 record and taking seven of 14 points on the jaunt through the East Division.
The seventh place Canes will return to the Enmax Centre for a date with the ninth place Regina Pats on Wednesday night at 7 p.m.
Each team has won two games apiece in the season series.
Justin Hall continues to lead the way for the Hurricanes with 58 points (31 goals, 57 assists) and Regina’s top point producer is Conor Bedard with 73 points (37 goals, 36 assists).
