The University of Lethbridge Board of Governors has voted to ratify terms of a new collective agreement with the institution’s striking faculty association and on Monday evening the faculty association said its members had voted to ratify the agreement.

A Saturday post on the U of L’s bargaining page said its vote was based on recommendations contained in a report made by the mediator who held meetings with the two sides last week.

The faculty association on Monday morning staged a virtual town hall, which was to be a repeat of a presentation made Saturday to members on ratification. Monday’s session was to have a focus on instructors.

Saturday’s meeting, according to an ULFA posting, had two items on its agenda. The first was a motion to put the proposed package to a vote and the second was on the method of conducting the vote.

Voting by ULFA members was closed Monday at 6 p.m. The ULFA is holding a press conference today at 10 a.m. to review the results.

“The results of our ratification vote are in: 92 per cent of our members voted, with 91 per cent voting to ratify the agreement. The #ulfastrike ends tomorrow,” the ULFA posted on their Twitter account Monday.

An enhanced round of mediation was conducted Friday which resulted in a proposed settlement.
