Hockey Canada named its 100 players for U17 Development Camp in Calgary next month.
Three Lethbridge Hurricanes including Miguel Marques, Tristen Doyle and Trae Wilke were named to that roster.
The final roster will then compete in the U17 Hockey Challenge.
Marques was a 2021 draft pick of the Canes and suited up in 10 regular season games for the club, while collecting two goals and six assists in that span.
He also appeared in all four playoff games for Lethbridge.
The Prince George, B.C. native had a 116 points in 31 games for the Delta Hockey Academy U17 Prep team last season and added another 30 playoff points to help Delta capture the CSSHL championship
As for defenceman Doyle, he skated in four regular season games with the Hurricanes and collected his first WHL goal on April 9 against the Calgary Hitmen after making his WHL debut on March 27 in Edmonton.
The Bonnyville product played for the Northern Alberta Xtreme U18 Prep team last season where he totalled 42 regular season points and added another three points in four playoff games.
Wilke was selected by the Canes 29th overall in the 2021 Prospects draft and made his debut this season against his hometown Saskatoon Blades on March 9.
The Saskatoon product amassed 46 points in 44 games with the Saskatoon Blazers U18 AAA team, while adding seven points in seven playoff games.
Wilke was also a part of Team Saskatchewan at the WHL Cup where he had four points.
The camp will be from July 10-16 in Calgary.
Trade
The Canes acquired Cole Carrier from Regina Pats in exchange for a sixth-round draft pick in the 2023 Prospects draft on Wednesday.
The 19-year-old had 27 points in 65 games with the Pats last season.
Carrier will join Jett Jones, Bryan Thomson and Alex Thacker as overagers on the roster next season.
Draft signings
After signing their 2022 first round pick William Sharpe on Monday, the Hurricanes signed 48th overall pick, goaltender Koen Cleaver, to a WHL standard player agreement on Tuesday. On Thursday, their 33rd overall pick, Kash Andresen was signed, followed by Carsen Adair on Friday.
