Lakers playing for Nationals berth

The Lethbridge Canadian Tire Lakers senior Little League team will play in the Divisionals final today at noon after going 2-0 in round robin play on Friday at Lloyd Nolan Yard.

The Lakers opened with an 8-1 win over  Calgary District No. 8 in their first game and had a strong seventh inning with four runs.Ty Mabin, Sammy Chow and Brayden Risling each had an RBI.

Mabin, Chow and Brody Wynder led the way with multiple hits.

Chow threw seven inning, allowing eight hits and two runs, while striking out one and walking one.

Lethbridge beat the Calgary Reds 12-2 in the second game in five innings due to the mercy rule.

The Lakers had 15 hits while Maybin, Wynder, Baron, Chow and Junior Young Pine all had multiple hits.

Bowen Weaver took the win on the mound.

If the Lakers win today against Calgary District No. 8, they will book their trip to Nationals in Nova Scotia later this month.

A loss would force the samew two teams to play again on Sunday.
