The Southern Alberta Ethnic Association presented a festive Latin Fest at the Multicultural Centre on Saturday.
Attendees could enjoy bands, live music, dancing, Latin food and drinks and children’s entertainment all afternoon and into the evening.
“Latin Fest is an opportunity for Latin people in our community to celebrate Latin culture with music, dance, food and just lots fun,” said Anastasia Sereda, SAEA co-ordinator.
“And it’s also an opportunity in general for anyone to come experience what Latin culture is all about.”
Sereda said one of the biggest things is food.
“There’s a huge diversity of food, she said.
“So that’s one of my favourite parts. Lots of music, like lots of really fun music for people to dance to – lots of dancing, like cultural dancing – and just like all kinds of other things.
Sereda agreed the Latin community in Lethbridge has grown.
“We have a lot of Latin member groups, like probably one of the biggest populations for southern Alberta as a part of the Southern Alberta Ethnic Association,” she said.
Latin fest saw over 1,000 people walk through the doors at the halfway point of the event.
