The Lethbridge and District Exhibition was able to make a significant donation to the Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association recently, thanks to their inaugural lotteries program.
In its first year the program awarded Judi Slusar with $19,585.00Â as the winning ticket holder and allowed the Lethbridge and District Exhibition to donate $5,332.87 to the LTRA.
Proceeds from the 2022 50/50 lottery benefited Lethbridge and District Exhibition and Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association, to support the delivery of vibrant opportunities to community members.
“The funds raised through the lottery program directly support our front-line work with therapy horses, allowing our most vulnerable citizens the desperately needed reconnection to nature that we all crave and need for healthy living,” said Jason Shriner, executive director of LTRA in a press release.
He said the partnership between LTRA and Lethbridge and District Exhibition highlights the historic and present strengths of each organization that build strong connections between rural and urban communities in southern Alberta.
Executive director of Lethbridge and District Exhibition, Mike Warkentin agreed by saying in a press release that LTRA was a valued partner with a shared vision for community collaboration and philanthropy.
“We are honoured to give back to the community through a program that changes lives and creates impactful life-long experiences for the Albertans who benefit from it,” said Warkentin.
The release states that Lethbridge and District Exhibition and LTRA are proud to make an impact across the region and give back to the communities and people who have supported them over the years, and they would like to thank ticket purchasers for participating in the first year of the Lethbridge and District Exhibition Lotteries program.
The Lethbridge and District Exhibition Lotteries program invites Albertans to support community building, by participating in next year’s program. Details can be found at LDELotteries.com in February 2023.
