The Lethbridge Hurricanes pushed their record to two games over .500 after a 2-1 win over the Swift Current Broncos on Saturday night at the Enmax Centre.
The Broncos got the board first courtesy of Caleb Wyrostok at 7:52 of the opening period from Connor Hvidston.
The Canes tied the game up on the second period, as Logan Wormald banged home his sixth goal of the season at 17:37 from Cole Shepard and Tyson Laventure.
Lethbridge defenceman Nolan Bentham snap shot a drop pass from Tyson Laventure past Broncos goalie Reid Dyck at 12:32 of the third period to push the Canes ahead for good.
Hayden Smith drew the other assist on Bentham’s marker.
Shots were 34-32 in favour of the Hurricanes.
Lethbridge went 1-for-6 and Swift Current went 0-for-6 on the powerplay.
The Hurricanes improved to 5-0-0-1 in their last six games and 10-8-0-1 on the season.
On Monday, Canes goalie Harrison Meneghin was named WHL Goaltender of the Week.
Meneghin kicked out 52 shots in two starts over the past week while posting a 1.00 goals against average and a .963 save percentage.
Meneghin holds a career 6-3-0-1 record, 2.60 goals-against average and .908 save percentage over 12 career WHL contests.
