Hurricanes beat Wheat Kings

For a second consecutive game, the Lethbridge Hurricanes Tyson Laventure was a thorn in the side  of the Brandon Wheat Kings in a 6-4 win on Saturday night in Manitoba.

Laventure followed up a three-point performance (two goals, one assist) on Friday night  with a hat trick on Saturday night.

Noah Chadwick chipped in with his second of the season,  Tyson Zimmer with his sixth and Brayden Edwards with his second goal of the campaign  rounded out the Canes offence.

The Wheat Kings got goals from Nate Danielson, Calder Anderson, Roger McQueen and Andrei Malyevin in Brandon’s  (8-15-2-0) loss.

Shots were 31-24 in favour of Lethbridge.

Lethbridge had two goals on six opportunities on the powerplay.

The Canes improved to 9-2-0-1 in their last dozen games and a record of 14-10-0-1 overall.

The win marked the 250th of head coach Brent Kisio’s career.

Kisio is the 40th coach in WHL history to reach that win plateau.

Lethbridge will wrap up the six-game- road trip on Friday against the Tri-City Americans and Saturday in Spokane against the Chiefs.
