One Lethbridge College Kodiaks volleyball team won in comeback fashion, while the other lost in a heartbreaker and are forced to play in the consolation bracket after the opening day of the ACAC Championships on Thursday.
The women’s team saw themselves down two sets to one to The King’s University in Red Deer and fought back to win the fourth and fifth set and move on to a semi-final game today.
The match score was (25-23, 25-13, 19-25, 23-25, 13-25).
The women Kodiaks will be guaranteed to be playing for a league medal come Saturday.
They will play University of Alberta-Augustana in the one Friday semi-finals at 6 p.m.
Meanwhile, the men’s team lost to NAIT in their first match of the Championship at Keyano College (25-19, 25-21, 23-25, 25-21) and ending any hope of a medal this year .
The men will play The King’s University today at 1 p.m. in hopes of winning and advancing to the fifth-place game on Saturday.
