The Lethbridge College Kodiaks futsal teams qualified for ACAC Championships after finishing in the top 3 of their Regional Tournaments in Medicine Hat over the weekend.
The men’s team had a record of 2-1-2 after opening with a 4-1 win over Medicine Hat College on Feb. 21, followed by a 5-1 loss to Olds College on Feb. 24, a 2-2 tie with Ambrose and a 9-3 win over Prairie on Saturday and wrapped up with a 4-4 tie with SAIT on Sunday.
As for the women’s team, they sported a 3-2 record after losing their opener 4-1 to Medicine Hat College on Feb. 21, beating Olds College 4-3 on Friday, an 11-1 and 12-9 beat downs on Ambrose and Prairie respectively on Saturday and ended with a 3-1 loss to SAIT on Sunday.
Both teams will travel to Fort McMurray for Championships from March 10-12.
Volleyball
The Kodiaks women’s volleyball team went home from ACAC Women’s Volleyball Championship without a medal after losing to the host Red Deer Polytechnic in five sets (25-23, 22-25, 16-25, 25-20, 10-15) in the bronze medal game on Saturday.
