Lethbridge Hurricanes goaltender Bryan Thomson pitched a 30-save shut out to propel his team to a 3-0 win over the Prince Albert Raiders on Friday night in northern Saskatchewan.
After a scoreless first period, it was the Canes Tyson Laventure who opened the scoring at 9:17 of the middle frame with his 20th goal of the campaign from Logan Wormald and Joe Arntsen.
Brayden Edwards doubled the Canes lead to 2-0 with 1:21 to go in the second period.
Tyson Zimmer closed out the scoring at the 5:04 mark of the third period with his 16th goal of the season.
Defenceman Logan McCutcheon had the assist on Zimmer’s tally.
Max Hildebrandt saved 27-of-30 Canes shots.
Lethbridge had no goals on five attempts with the man adavantage, while the Raiders went 0-for-3 on the powerplay.
The Hurricanes (32-21-3-3) will look to make it three wins in a row when they face-off with the Saskatoon Blades tonight at 6 p.m.
With the win, the Hurricanes only sit three points behind the Moose Jaw warriors for fourth place in the Eastern Conference.
