ARMSTRONG, Erin Erin Armstrong March 24, 1990 – March 14, 2023 It is with sadness we announce the passing of our daughter Erin Jayne Armstrong. She liked to be called “MJ” in her later life. Erin was born on March 24, 1990, and passed away on March 14, 2023.
Erin began life facing many challenges. These did not ever leave her.
However, for those touched by Erin, we were gifted with her infectious laugh, her sense of humor, her ability to readily forget, and her continual willingness to forgive.
Many, many people have supported Erin throughout her life. In fact, too many to name at risk of forgetting someone. From family to very close friends, teachers, teaching assistants, support staff and respite families. We thank each and every one of you for your investment in our daughter and for the support you provided to us as well.
We will be having a family gathering to celebrate Erin’s life as soon as the snow clears.

CHOMIAK, Nick Nick Chomiak December 4, 1938 – March 20, 2023 It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Nick Chomiak. A beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend.
At the age of 84 Nick Chomiak passed away in the early morning hours of Monday March 20, 2023, at RIH in Kamloops, BC, with his wife Linda, and daughter Lori by his side. Nick was born on December 4, 1938, the sixth of fifteen children to parents Nick and Rose Chomiak. Nick was raised on the family farm on the outskirts of Lethbridge, Alberta. In his early years Nick learned the valuable lesson of hard work and the rewards that came with it. This was a characteristic that lasted throughout his life and was admired by all who knew him.
In 1956 Nick enlisted in the military and served for three years with the Princess Patricia Regiment. While in service the family farm was sold, and his parents purchased a home in the city of Lethbridge. This is where Nick met Linda Paskuski, who Nick began courting in1960. They were married on September 2nd 1961 and were Lifelong partners for sixty-two years.
In the same year, Nick and Linda relocated to Golden, BC where he started his own roofing company. Nick and Linda were blessed with three children, Kimberly, Craig and Lori. With the expanding family Nick and Linda built a new home where they lived until 1972.
An opportunity came to purchase a small farm thirty minutes from Golden in the Columbia Valley. Coming from a farming background Nick was eager to purchase land of his own. Nick raised blonde d’aquitaine cattle and grew his own hay on the family farm. Nick was passionate about all his endeavours, and this was evident in the many improvements over the next fifty years at Chomiak Ranching. An expansion to the house, new hay sheds, new corrals, fences, gardens, a green house, and beautiful landscaping which Nick and Linda passionately maintained.
After moving to the farm, Nick changed careers and began working in the logging industry until his retirement in 1997. Those he worked with, many of whom became lifelong friends, admired his leadership, guidance, work ethic and sense of humour.
Nick was President of the Golden Lion’s Club, served on the Golden Hospital Board, was involved with Air Cadets, 4H Club and was a member of the Masons and Shriners.
Nick and Linda loved spending time with their grandkids; nine grandkids and five great grandchildren. Nick and Linda loved to fish, travel, camp, and were long time members of Good Sam. Visiting friends took them across Canada and visiting family took them to the far north, Coppermine in Nunavut, Yellowknife NWT along with the Caribbean’s, British Virgin Islands. Their most recent adventure being to the Antarctic.
In the spring of 2021 Nick and Linda sold the farm and moved to Kamloops, BC to be closer to family. Nick enjoyed going to plays, fishing, walking in Riverside Park, and going to the Blazers games. All who sat near Nick could hear him yelling, “Shoot the puck”. Nick was a positive man, and his life was filled with many great events, laughs and memories.
Nick was predeceased by his parents, Nick and Rose and sisters Rose, Mary, Priscilla, Irene and brothers Billy and Pat.
Nick is survived by his wife Linda, children, Kimberly (Timothy), Craig (Fiona), Lori (Neal), grandchildren Tyler (Brittny), Alana, Braden, Cari, Jamie, Erica, Elisa, Nicholas and Hailey. Great Grandchildren McKenna, Blake, Layla, Elian and Chrisjay and daughter in law Marian Romney. Sisters Anne, Helen, Gladys, Francis, Kathy, brothers Mike, Don, Fred and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff at RIH who assisted with Nicks care.
A small family gathering will be held on April 2nd with a Celebration of Life to follow in Golden BC, at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society in Nick’s memory.

LEVERETT, Anthony “Tony” ANTHONY “TONY” LEVERETT 1937 – 2023 Anthony (Tony) Leverett of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Shelagh, passed away suddenly on March 24, 2023, after a short and cruel battle with Mesothelioma. He was 85 years old, which may come as a shock to many people who knew him, as Tony was eternally youthful.
Tony was born in London, England to Frederick Leverett and Eva (Garvey). He was employed as a double decker bus driver for London Transport before emigrating to Canada in December 1970, where he practiced his trade as a barber at various establishments, before opening his own barber shop at the Sandman Inn, Tony’s Barber Shop. Tony made many friends of clients, some of whom had been coming to him for over 50 years. The sudden onset of mesothelioma forced Tony into early retirement, otherwise he may never have retired. Tony really enjoyed working and conversing with his clients about many subjects, but mainly sports. Tony’s first love, other than his family, was soccer, followed by baseball and basically all sports. He always had music playing in his shop, especially big band. He had many pictures of Marilyn Monroe around the walls, he was a fan, and clients would tell him they came for the entertainment as well as the haircut. Tony had a great sense of humour and kept his family, friends and clients laughing over the years with his stories.
Tony met Shelagh in 1967, and immediately knew they had found their soul mate in each other. They married in 1969 before moving to Canada in 1970. Tony promised Shelagh that it would only be for one year, but Canada became their forever home. They enjoyed 53 years of a wonderful marriage. Their first child, Sean, came along in 1973 with Sarah following closely in 1974. Tony is survived by his devoted wife Shelagh, his beloved children, Sean (Miranda), Sarah (Rob) and his pride and joy grandchildren, Andrea, Amanda (Luke), Matthew, Kyle and Hannah.
Tony was a wonderful husband, Dad and Grandad and his passing has left a huge hole in all of our lives. Tony will be missed and loved forever.
As per Tony’s wishes, a private family service will be held.
