BROERS, Ineke and Gabrielle

In Memory of Ineke and Gabrielle Broers It is with our deepest regrets that we say farewell to CLASINA “INEKE” BROERS (née Veeken) of Picture Butte, AB, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, May 27th, 2023.
Ineke is survived by her husband Martien Broers, son Niels (Sundeep), son-in-law James and grandchildren: Nikhail and Mia, Jayden, Breanna and Tanner, as well as many other family members in The Netherlands.
Ineke was born in Sijbekarspel, The Netherlands, on July 6, 1948 to the late Jan Veeken and Margareta Kuip. She immigrated to Alberta, Canada with family on June 27, 1982. Ineke was a beloved Oma, wife, mother, sister and friend who brought much happiness, laughter and joy to all she worked with and befriended.
GABRIELLE MARGARETHA BROERS, beloved daughter of Ineke and Martin Broers, passed away in Prince Rupert, BC, on Saturday, April 8, 2023.
Gabrielle is survived by her partner James Pretulac and children Jayden, Breanna and Tanner, her father Martien Broers, in-laws Ester and Stan Pretulac, brother Niels (Sundeep) and family, along with many other family members overseas.
Gabrielle was born in Hoorn, The Netherlands on January 16, 1972. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister and a very devoted friend to many. Gabrielle will be very missed by all that knew her.
A private Viewing for Ineke will be held at Cornerstone Funeral Home. Cremation is entrusted to Cornerstone Funeral Home. Gabrielle’s Funeral was held in Prince Rupert, BC, and they will both be laid to rest peacefully in Hawaii at a later date.

WALKEY, Bryan

BRYAN WALKEY 1950 – 2023 Mr. Bryan Walkey of Lethbridge passed away with his loving wife Marlene Henry by his side at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre on Friday, May 12, 2023 at the age of 73 years.
In addition to his wife Marlene, stepson Jason (Crystal) Henry and step-grandson Devon; Bryan is survived by 2 brothers, Lanny and Scott; 7 sisters, Penny, Janet, Marilynne, Sandy, Judy, Susan and Pam; and numerous nieces and nephews. Whenever he had the opportunity, he particularly liked to entertain them. Bryan was predeceased by his parents Lee and Maree (Fallwell) Walkey and brothers, George and Read.
Born in Drumheller, he grew up in Bowness before it became part of Calgary. He liked to be on the move, so he participated in a variety of sports, especially football. He also liked to drive tour buses and limos and be a tour guide.
When Marlene retired from teaching in Hanna, Alberta, they moved to Lethbridge. They really enjoyed living in their new neighborhood. Bryan was out and about every day, interacting with the neighbors and helping them in any way he could.
Bryan’s family would like to thank the staff at St. Michael’s Palliative Care Centre for the care and attention that Bryan received during those last months of his life and the many small kindnesses shown by security, housekeeping, cook’s, and dishwashers, etc.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm, Saturday, June 3, 2023 at ST AUGUSTINE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, 411 11 ST S, Lethbridge, AB, with Reverend Steve Bateman, officiating.

HARTY MATHIAS THOMAS HARTY, of Lethbridge, AB, beloved husband of Dorothy Pauline Harty, passed away at sunrise, with his family by his side, on Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the age of 90 years.

GEORGINE HECKER With great sadness we announce that GEORGINE “GEORGE” HECKER passed away on May 23, 2023 at St. Michael’s Health Centre, Lethbridge, AB at the age of 69 years.
A Funeral Mass will be held at OUR LADY OF THE ASSUMPTION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 2405 – 12 Avenue South, Lethbridge, AB, on May 31, 2023 at 1:30 P.M. with Father Kevin Tumback celebrating.
Georgine will be laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery, Medicine Hat, AB at a later date.
