A public hearing will be held in council chambers next Tuesday to consider an amendment to the land use bylaw to allow for new uses on the parcel of land currently occupied by the homeless shelter operated by Blood Tribe Health.
The hearing will be at 3 p.m. following council’s regular meeting.
The amendment to Bylaw 6394 – the Railway Relocation Lands Area Redevelopment Plan – is to allow for new uses on the property “and for delegation of development approval authority to the Development Authority,” says the City.
Specifically, the amendment is to remove 802 2A Avenue North from the plan area.
The amendment of the plan would be “to facilitate a proposed rezoning of the property to a new Direct Control lad use district which is proposed in a separate draft bylaw (6395),” says the City. No other change would be made to the plan.
The public can make verbal presentations on the amendment at the hearing. Written submissions were due by Monday.
