For the second game in a row, the Lethbridge Bulls and Fort McMurray Giants went into extra innings on Friday night.
However, it was the Giants coming out on top on this night in the 10th inning as Max Stagg drove in Michael Buckley with a sacrifice fly for the winning run.
It was the hometown Giants that got on the board first in the game as Kelab Lemos grounded out to third to score Stagg in the fourth inning.
It was two innings later that the Bulls Nick Gravel scored off of an unsuccessful pickoff attempt at second base, as he advanced to third and then home on the play to tie the game at one.
The Giants pulled ahead in the seventh when Bennett McCollow hit a single to cash in Colin Fisher to give Fort McMurray a 2-1 lead.
It was in the next inning that Lethbridge’s Josh Kabayama hit a single to the shortstop and scored Gravel tie the game 2-2 in the eighth inning.
That was all the scoring before Buckley’s winner in the 10th inning.
