The South Country Fair in Fort Macleod is off and running for three sweltering days of entertainment.
The annual festival kicked off Friday night with opening ceremonies at 6:30 p.m. followed by several musical acts with Lethbridge’s Skinny Dyck closing the night with a performance starting at 12:55 a.m.
Entertainment kicks off this morning at 11 a.m. featuring Nia with Alyshia Grace. Sandra Lamouche and Lowell Yellowhorn perform at 11:30 a.m.
The South Stage from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. will feature the SCF Sessions: The Future is Now Young Artist Showcase. Musicians will include Kai Brooks, Eilish Lazenby, Paula Neu and Grace Fawcett with Shaela Miller and Gillain Moranz.
At 12:50, the SCF Sessions on the East Stage will feature John Wort Hannam, Jane Hawley, Sutherland and Ellen Froese.
Music continues all day and into the evening with a final performance by Doghouse Orchestra at 12:5 a.m. on the South Stage.
Numerous events are also scheduled throughout the day including medication, yoga, shamanic drumming, watercolour painting, a ukelele workshop, family spin jam and Imaginarium Puppetry.
The Lethbridge Independent Film Society will host a screening from 10:30 p.m. until 12:30 a.m.
On Sunday, entertainment begins on the East and South stages at 11 a.m. with the festival ending at 6 p.m.
