LETHBRIDGE HERALD –

The Lethbridge Miners have qualified for the American Legion Montana State ‘A’ championships after coming in second in the North District tournament this past weekend in Vauxhall.

The Miners won close games against Medicine Hat and Vauxhall earlier in the weekend before falling 8-2 to Havre in Sunday’s final.

However, a 7-3 win over Vauxhall in the subsequent B-side final still earned the Lethbridge team a trip to the state tournament, which runs tomorrow through Sunday in Laurel, Montana.

The Miners, who stand with an overall record of 39-10 for the season, face the host team at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.

The winner of the state tournament goes on to the top-level regional championships in Havre the following weekend.
