MOFFAT, Bruce BRUCE JAMES MOFFAT July 14, 1935 – July 12, 2023 Bruce James Moffat of Lethbridge, beloved husband of the late Mrs. Edna Moffat, passed away at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, at the age of 87 years.
Bruce was born in Winnipeg, Manitoba on July 14, 1935 to parents Jim and Edith Moffat. It was in Winnipeg where Bruce was raised and educated alongside his four siblings: Marilyn, Barb, Heather, and Jim.
Bruce met Edna Marie Carlson and the two were married on September 14, 1957. Bruce was employed at Siemens of England in Winnipeg manufacturing products ranging from traffic lights to the superconducting magnets used in medical scanners and the drives. While working with Siemens, Bruce & Edna were transferred to the office in Edmonton and then to Calgary when Bruce accepted a position with AGT.
Bruce & Edna moved to Brooks, Alberta where Bruce worked as an equipment installer. In 1972, after 14 years and a promotion to co-foreman, Bruce transferred and he and Edna made the move to Lethbridge, Alberta. It was while working in Lethbridge that Bruce was promoted to Service Manager of Business Communications in 1975.
Bruce was president of the Elk’s club from 1966-1967 and loved to spend time in Whitefish, Montana. He was a woodworking enthusiast and a notable contributor to eight different charities including the Chinook Regional Hospital – Jack Ady Cancer Centre and the Lethbridge Humane Society – where Bruce’s beloved pet cat Kimbeau is being looked after since his passing.
Many heartfelt thanks to all the friends who cared for Bruce during his time of needs: Darcy, Leanne, Jodie, Elsie and Bob, Marc, Liz, Shannon, Brenda, Brian, and St. Michael’s, to name a few.

KAUENHOWEN, Randal RANDAL KEVIN WILLI KAUENHOWEN February 16, 1986 – August 1, 2023 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of RANDY KAUENHOWEN, from Lethbridge, on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the age of 37 years.
Randy is survived by his loving wife Chantel; daughter Mariah; son Ryley; and bonus children: Dominik, Aliya and Austin (aka Nutzo) along with many other children he cared for; parents Willi Kauenhowen and Cathy McCabe; brothers: Ron, Jason and Cody; and sisters Kathy and Denise.
Randy worked hard and played hard to provide a good life for his wife and children. The most important things to him were camping, riding ATV’s and dirt biking with his family.
Randy will be forever remembered for his infectious smile and the love he had for family and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date.

BIANCHI, Thomas THOMAS BIANCHI 1933 – 2023 Tom Bianchi of Coaldale, AB passed away on August 7, 2023 with family by his side at the age of 89 years. Tom was born December 16, 1933 in Coutts, AB to Nick and Hilda Bianchi. He was the oldest of 5 children.
In 1956, he married Dorothy Thompson of Whitlash, Montana. They have three children, Eric, Calvin and Rhonda.
Tom was a farmer, rancher, partsman, salesman and a jack of all trades. Tom and Eric owned and operated a horizontal water well drilling operation. Tom and Dorothy farmed in Aden from 1965 to 1989. They semi-retired and moved to Coaldale, AB. Tom was a crop insurance adjuster for 11 years and they owned a truck and courier business.
Tom and Dorothy travelled and enjoyed trips to the Bahamas, Hawaii, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Mexico as well as 32 states in the USA.
In 2000, Dorothy passed away after a courageous battle with cancer. Tom re-married in 2001 to Yvonne Garnett until she passed away in March 2023. Tom and Yvonne also enjoyed their time travelling and keeping up with events from both families.
Tom enjoyed being a member of the Milk River Hospital Board, Grain Gun Club, Grain Community Hall & Ag Society, Chinook Gas Co-Op in Milk River and Southern Alberta Classic Car Club. Tom was a board member of the Presbyterian Church in Whitlash, Montana as well as a board member of the Coaldale United Church.
Tom’s hobbies included travelling, oil painting, horseshoes, bowling, rebuilding antique cars and golf.
Tom was predeceased by the love of his life, his first wife, Dorothy of 44 years and his second wife Yvonne of 21 years. His parents Nick and Hilda Bianchi, sister Rose Barrows and brother Sam Bianchi.
Tom is survived by his son’s Eric (Cathy), Calvin (Anna), and daughter Rhonda (Hal) Berringer, 16 grandchildren, 32 great-grand children. Brother Cecil (Shirley), sister Gladys (Stan) Bunyak, many nieces and nephews and by Yvonne’s 4 children, Sharon, Janice, Marlene and John and their families.
A celebration of life will be held at the Coaldale United Church (2022 – 18th Street, Coaldale, AB) at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, 2023 with Pastor Keith Dangerfield officiating. A private family interment will follow at the Coaldale Community Cemetery. Those who wish to remember Thomas with a donation, may do so to the Alzheimer Society Alberta and Northwest Territories ( #101, 1201 Kingsway Ave SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 2Y2).

GROSS, Sara GROSS SARA J. GROSS, of the Greenwood Hutterite Colony of Fort Macleod, passed away at the Taber Health Centre on Friday, August 10th, 2023, at the age of 75 years.
She is survived by her husband of 53 years, David, one daughter, Frieda (David) Wurz, six grandchildren, as well as her colony family.
The Funeral Service will be held at the Greenwood Hutterite Colony, Fort Macleod, on Sunday, August 13th, at 11:30 A.M.
