The Lethbridge Hurricanes dropped their first game of the B.C. division road trip after being edged by the Kelowna Rockets 4-1 on Tuesday night.
Both teams were entrenched in a quiet opening frame other than a Rocket shot hitting the post behind Canes goalie Harrison Meneghin.
After a scoreless first period, it was the Rockets who scored first in the second period as forward Gabriel Szturc took a feed from Will Munro and wristed it past the blocker of Canes goalie Harrison Meneghin at 8:16 of the period.
Logan Wormald tied the game at one just 5:05 into the third when he scored on a penalty shot.
Tig Iginla restored the Rockets lead to 2-1 with his 18th of the season at the 10-minute mark of the third period.
Szturc and Munro notched the assists.
The Rockets made the score 3-1 on the powerplay at 13:56 of the third period, as Marcus Pacheco whacked home a rebound.
Iginla and Sztruc got the assists on the goal.
Caden Price scored the Rockets fourth goal into an empty net from Dylan Wightman at 17 minutes of the third.
Kelowna went 1-for-6 while the Canes went 0-for-4 on the powrplay
Final shots were 35- 27 for Lethbridge
The Hurricanes continue their B.C. road trip when they face the Kamloops Blazers tonight at 8 p.m.
