The top line of Brayden Edwards, Miguel Marques and Logan Wormald have played together for a couple of seasons together now and continue to get stronger in leading the Lethbridge Hurricanes offensive charge so far this season.

The line has accounted for almost a third of the team’s 103 goals, with 35 and have 93 points combined between the three of them.

Edwards thinks the line’s offensive play has been good the whole year, while defensively, it’s been an area of focus.

“I think throughout the year, it just keeps getting better and just looking to continue on from that,” said Edwards.

Edwards has seen the confidence grow in the plays that him and his linemates are making.

“Yeah, just being  able to trust each other and know each other is going to make good plays,” he said.

“Yeah just relying heavy on each other and I think  it’s been working.”

Edwards feels he’s been that strong centreman both ways on the ice.

“I try to make my linemates life easy by winning a majority of my battles and trying to win as many faceoffs as I can (and) just set us up in good spots,” said Edwards.

Edwards has 14 goal and 19 assists through for 33 points in 30 games.

Wormald feels he brings a lot of IQ to that line while helping out in both ends of the ice.

“I mean a couple points while I’m at it and I think that’s what our team needs from us,” said Wormald.

The line works on staying connected.

“Our defence is always a key fact to our team here,” said Wormald.

“So yeah I think just staying tight in our defensive end and I think the offence will come as that happens.”

Wormald has seven goals and 18 assists in 23 games.

Marques felt the line has been gelling since the beginning of the season.

“Then obviously when things are going the right way, you’re obviously pretty happy and you just got to keep playing the right way,” said Marques.

“You’re really motivated to keep getting better every day and that’s what we bring every day to practice (and) to games. We just want to get better and make the best out of ourselves and then obviously we played together before, so we have some chemistry. It’s been really good this year and it’s been awesome and fun.”

Marques brings his skill and playmaking to the line.

“Obviously, they can score goals and we can all kind of finish and put the puck in the net and that’s the end goal with our line,” said Marques.

“We have to produce, and put up some points for our team and that’s how we have to play and obviously with that being said, we are grinders, and we can play on the for check and we’re heavy and hard too.”

Marques has 14 goals and 21 assists in 32 games.

“They’ve been excellent. They’ve been able to go toe-to-toe with some of the best lines in our league this year,” said Matt Anholt, Hurricanes assistant coach.

“You think of the game in Prince George or the Moose Jaw games,  or those sort of teams that  have NHL-signed forwards for a reason and they’re able to play right with them. You think  starting with Eddy, he’s such a work horse and able to get pucks back and he keeps his aim relatively simple but it’s in a good way. He just gets puck to his wingers  and Wormy and Miggy both make a ton of plays but they also compete hard and they can play with pace. So they can play any way you kind of want.”
