The Val Matteoti Golden Hawks U15AAA and the Headwater Hurricanes U17AAA hockey teams had positive results while the U18AAAs struggled into the Christmas break last weekend.
U15AAA
The Hawks began their weekend with a 3-3 tie with Calgary Flames (NWCAA) on Friday, followed by a 5-4 win over the Fort Saskatchewan Rangers on Sunday. The Hawks sit in seventh place in the South Division with a 7-7-0-2 record at the break.
U17AAA
The Headwater Hurricanes dropped a 6-1 road game to the Calgary North Stars on Friday and then won an exciting 2-1 overtime game over the Calgary Bulls on Sunday. The Canes sit last in the South Division with a 5-11 record.
U18 AAA
The U18AAA Hurricanes dropped both of their games to Red Deer by 5-4 and 9-2 scores on Saturday and Sunday respectively .
The U18AAA squad sit last in the South Division with a 5-13-0-4 record.
