After dropping three-of-four at home to the VIU Mariners last week, the Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs varsity team split their doubleheader with Okanagan College Coyotes to begin their road trip on Thursday in Kelowna.
PBA started the day with an 8-1 win over OC, in which a four-run first inning helped them to victory.
The Dawgs scored eight runs on 12 hits.
Owen Lucas went 3-for-4 at the plate while scoring a run, Justin Scott went 2-for-4 while scoring two runs and Aldo Rojas went 2-for 3 and scored a run to lead the Dawgs.
Jack Hudson threw a complete game seven innings, giving up a run on five hits and striking out four batters.
The Coyotes won the second game 5-3.
Lucas, Rojas sand Kai Ryden scored for the Dawgs in the loss.
Marc Brisson had a strong game at the plate, going 2-for-2 with an RBI.
Brayden Dewitt took the loss for the Dawgs after pitching 3 1/3 innings, while giving up four runs on five hits and striking out two batters.
Both teams will battle in another doubleheader in Kelowna today beginning at 11 a.m.
PBA will then play four games at University of Fraser Valley over the weekend.
PBA now have a record of 10-8 and sit fourth in the CCBC standings.
