A Josh Clark sacrifice  fly in the bottom of the 10th inning scored Morgan Halliday for the winning run in a 1-0 Prairie Baseball Academy Dawgs victory over the Edmonton Collegiate Hawks in the second game of the double header between the two teams at Lloyd Nolan Yard on Thursday.

Jake Maniago threw nine innings for the Dawgs and allowed three hits and struck out four.

“I mean with the bats it’s just hard, you just got to kind of wait until it comes and on the mound I was just trying to hold them, (and) keep it at zero until we could score,” said Maniago.

The win allowed PBA to split the double header after a ninth inning collapse in a 13-12 loss in the earlier game.

“Getting the split was huge and going into playoffs it’s going (to) be nice to hopefully get some wins going in there,” said Maniago.

The ninth inning in the first game was one to forget for the Dawgs as they had a 12-3 lead and gave up 10 runs in the loss.

PBA will gear up  to play six games in four days  to conclude the CCBC regular season  beginning with two in Calgary against the Dinos on Saturday.
