A seven-run sixth inning propelled the Lethbridge Bulls to an 11-5 win over the Brooks Bombers on Thursday night at Spitz Stadium.
The Bombers didn’t waste any time getting on the board as a single by Kelton Phillips scored Payton Matthews to give the visitors an early 1-0 lead.
The Bulls would tie the game in the bottom of the third inning as Carlin Dick hit a single to score Scott Hansen.
Dick came to the plate with two out in the bottom of fifth with two runners aboard and was delivered a wild pitch in which Josh Kabayama scored to push the Bulls ahead 2-1.
The Bulls’ Riley Pearce came up to the plate in the bottom of sixth with the bases loaded and he delivered with an RBI single to bring in two runs to increase the Bulls lead to 4-1.
Kabayama would later in the sixth hit a single to cash in two more runs and give Lethbridge a 6-1 lead.
Kyle Yip hit an RBI single to cash in Kabayama and give the Bulls a 7-1 lead.
Yip later scored on a wild pitch to make the score 8-1.
Dick would later slide in to make it 9-1 as the Bulls continued to pile up the run in the sixth.
Brooks would add on four runs in the seventh to make the score 9-5.
Dick hit a two-run home run in the eighth to increase the Bulls lead to 11-5.
Javier De Alejandro took the win for the Bulls in the contest.
The Bulls (6-5) host the Okotoks Dawgs tonight at 7:05 p.m.
