ULLY, Harry

HARRY ULLY 1941 – 2024 Mr. Harry Ully of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Bev Ully, passed away peacefully with his family at his side, at Foothills Medical Centre, on Saturday, July 20, 2024, at the age of 83 years.
Besides his wife Bev, also left to mourn Harry’s passing are his son Jason (Michelle); His 3 brothers Milton (Bonnie), Aubrey (June), and Keith (Cindy); as well as many additional relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by his sister Sherry (Dale) in 2021.
He was well loved, and as he wished, he will be remembered privately by his family and friends.

BAERG, Helen

BAERG Helen Mary Baerg, of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away on July 24 at the age of 87.
Helen was born on May 16, 1937 in Coaldale, Alberta. Her desire and need to care for others resulted in her attending the St. Michael’s General Hospital School of Nursing and graduating as a Registered Nurse in August, 1958, a career she cherished for many years.
In 1969, Helen married Alfred and they raised four daughters together: Lynn (Tom) Corbett, Brenda (Dan) Sawatsky, Karen (Allan) Rancier, and Chrissey Baerg. In addition to her daughters, Helen is survived by six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
In her free time, Helen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, machrome, baking, and reading.
She will be greatly missed by the many family and friends who knew her and on whom she made a lasting impact.
The family would like to thank the 5A nursing staff of the Lethbridge Regional Hospital for the exemplary care they provided.
A Celebration of Life service is planned for Tuesday, July 30 at 1:00 PM at the Evangelical Free Church, 4717 24th Ave S., Lethbridge, with a light lunch to follow.

Carol Megyes 1944 – 2024 Carol Megyes, beloved wife of the late Elmer Megyes, passed away in Lethbridge on Thursday, July 25, 2024 at the age of 79 years. Relatives and friends are invited to Prayers at Southland Funeral Chapel, 5006 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Tuesday, July 30, 2024 at 6:00 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Catholic Church, 5009 – 48 Avenue, Taber on Wednesday, July 31, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. Burial to follow at the Taber Memorial Garden. Carol is survived by her four children, John (Joely) Megyes, Carolyn (Fred) Moerkerk, Mary-Ann (Arthur) Tingey and Julie (Hugue) Pineault; ten grandchildren, Toni (Brandon), Kelli (Jack), Lyndley, Aidan, Sawyer (Kacey), Robyn (Gerrick), Quinlan, Jarvis (Amber), Pascal, Olivia and by four great grandchildren, Elliot, Chelsea, Liliana and Ginnie. Carol is also survived by her brother Bob (Lana) Krakowski, neice Shana and nephews Layne, Art and Doug. She was predeceased by her husband Elmer Megyes, her parents Bob and Mary Krakowski, in-laws Tony and Anna Megyes and sister-in-law Maggie Jonker. Carol was born December 10, 1944, in Germany to Bob and Mary Krakowski. She immigrated with her family to Canada in 1954, settling in the Taber area. Carol and Elmer were married on April 27, 1968 and made their home on a farm east of Taber. Together, they operated the family farm until 1986. They then moved into town and worked as custodians at the Taber Legion for approximately ten years. Carol and Elmer loved socializing, dancing and having company over, a tradition that continued into Carol’s later years as she often went out for coffee with her various circles of friends. Carol and Elmer loved to travel to Las Vegas and took numerous trips when they were able. She was devoted to her faith in the Catholic Church and was very proud of her long term involvement with the Catholic Women’s League (CWL). Carol always had a smile on her face and would start a conversation with anyone. She enjoyed visiting with people and when able, volunteering in the community. HAND KENNETH “KEN” HAND, of Nelson, BC, beloved husband of Diane Hand, loving father of Stacey Hand (Brett Ferguson), Erin Carpenter (Ryan Carpenter), and Leah Hand (Blair Pickett), and grandfather to 9 beautiful grandchildren, passed away suddenly, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at the age of 67 years.

HUISMAN, Robert

HUISMAN ROBERT HUISMAN of Foremost, passed away peacefully in Lethbridge on Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at the age of 89 years with family by his side.
Robert was born and raised at the family farm and then lived in Foremost and farmed south of Foremost almost his entire life, retiring in 2003.
Robert leaves behind his loving wife of 64 years Dolores (née Hansen) Huisman; children Lorie (Mike) Flynn; Tim (Michelle) Huisman, their children Curtis (Christine and their son Henry), and Janel Huisman (Cody); and Randy (Cheryl) and their son Aiden.
Robert is survived by brother-in-law Rick Smith; brother-in-law Gilbert (Val) Hansen; sisters-in-law Carol (Gord) Allen and Brenda (Howard) Goodby as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Robert is predeceased by his parents Albert and Rose (née Schatz) Huisman; his brother Lloyd and sister Darlene Smith; Dolores’ parents Einar and Helen (née Weber) Hansen; and Dolores’ grandparents Sol and Sophia Weber.
In lieu of flowers and memorial gifts, donations can be made in Robert’s memory to the Foremost Community Hall or Foremost EMS.
Robert will be laid to rest at a private family service.

Alice Haynes 1923 – 2024 Our precious mother, Alice Marian Haynes (née Mecham, formerly Jensen), beloved wife of the late William Grant Haynes, passed away in Cardston on Friday, July 26, 2024 at the age of 101 years. She was also predeceased by her brothers Clarence Tufts, Arlen Harris and by a sister Audrey Anderson.Alice’s life was filled with love and service to all who knew and needed her. She served faithfully with many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She loved and lived the Gospel of our Saviour Jesus Christ.
