The Lethbridge Bulls season came to an end after a heart breaking 4-3 loss in 13 innings to the Okotoks Dawgs in a Western Canadian Baseball League West Division playoff semi-final on Friday night in the third and deciding game in Okotoks.
Ricardo Sanchez hit a one-out single to score Leo Griffin for the winning run.
It didn’t take long for the scoring to get going in this one as the Bulls scored the first run of the game in the first inning as Jake Lacey scored on a one-out triple by Scott Hansen.
The Dawgs responded in the bottom half of the first inning when a two-out single by Logan Grant cashed in Jarrett Burney and Ricardo Sanchez to give Okotoks a 2-1 lead.
Each team traded runs in the seventh inning.
Hansen hit a sacrifice fly to score Josh Kabayama and tie the game at twos.
Burney then hit a two-out single in the bottom of the seventh to score Brendan Luther from second and give Okotoks a 3-2 lead.
The seesaw battle continued when Kalem Haney hit a two-out triple to score Carlin Dick and tied the game yet again.
