The Run for the Pumpkin fun run, which is hosted by the Lethbridge Polytechnic Kodiaks cross-country team, returns for its 37th year next month with a slight change.
A new course has been implemented with both the start and finish lines being at the south end of Nicholas Sheran School.
Beginning at 10 a.m., a two-kilometre race will start, followed by a four-kilometre trek at 11 a.m. on Sept. 21.
Runners in age categories of under six to 35 will have competition.
A 4K invitational high school cross country team event will be included in the run.
However, at least four runners in each of the female or male categories is required to compete.
“The challenge is based on the best aggregate times of the four fastest runners of each team for the male and female categories,” as read in the release.
More information and registration can be found at https://www.racepro.ca/runforthepumpkin/.
