GRISNICH, Alice

ALICE GRISNICH 1929 – 2024 Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” On August 22, 2024, at the age of 95 years, our Lord and Savior took to Himself Alice Grisnich, who passed away peacefully with her family by her side.
Alice Grisnich was born on March 15, 1929, to Martin and Susanna Visser in Oud Beijerland, the Netherlands.
She will be greatly missed by her children Suzanna (Henk) van Rhee and Raymond (Elly) Grisnich, and all her grandchildren and great grandchildren; sisters-in- law Elizabeth Visser, Grada Leeuwenburgh, Ank Grisnich, Ann Brink, Tine Grisnich, and Gerie Grisnich.
She was predeceased by her dear husband; Reyer (Ray) Grisnich; daughter Gerda Grisnich; parents Martin and Susanna Visser; parents in-law, Reyer and Gerarda Grisnich; all her siblings and many in-laws.
It was moms greatest joy to see her families around her and never a day went by that she didn’t express love for her Lord and Savior and how she was so comforted by His nearness. Even through the last weeks of her life, when weakness and confusion ruled her earthly body, she could rejoice in the Lord, and with all the power she had, sang the words of Psalm 121.
I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.
My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.
He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not
slumber.
Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.
The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.
The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.
The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.
The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this
time forth, and even for evermore.
It was her wish and is the family’s prayer that all those on this side of eternity that knew mom, will also be able to rejoice in the goodness of God.
Condolences will be held from 7:00pm to 8:00pm on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at MARTIN BROTHERS RIVERVIEW CHAPEL, 610 – 4 Street South, Lethbridge, Alberta.
