Lethbridge AAA teams split weekend games

Lethbridge’s U18AAA and U15AAA hockey teams split their games over the weekend.

 The U18AAA Canes were in Edmonton and opened up with a 3-1 loss to the Edmonton Jr. Oilers Blue on Saturday.

Hayden Iron Shirt scored the only goal for the Canes in the loss.

Brody Rotar saved 33-of-35 shots in Lethbridge’s net.

Lethbridge turned around on Sunday and earned a 3-2 against the GPAC Ernie’s Sports Experts Storm.

Iron Shirt ,Elijah Fleck, and Cohen Larson scored for the Canes.

U15AAA

The Val Matteoti Golden Hawks edged the St. Albert Raiders Sabres 4-3 on home ice in overtime on Saturday.

Liam Cowie scored 2:35 in overtime to give the Golden Hawks the win.

 Briggs Fabro had two goals and Jake Gerstenbuhler added one to supply Lethbridge’s other goals.

Things didn’t go the way of the Hawks on Sunday, as they were thumped 7-0 by the South east (SEAC) Tigers.
