Blood Tribe elects new chief and council

Blood Tribe members took to the polls on Wednesday to elect their new chief and council.

With former chief Roy Fox not entering the race, a new chief was guaranteed.

Traveller (Travis) Plaited Hair, who served on the previous council, has been elected Blood Tribe Chief, with a total of 771 votes

A total of 59 people entered the council race and the 12 who earned the most votes were elected in.

Returning council members Pinaakoyim Tailfeathers, Maria Russel, Clarence Blackwater, Dorothy First Rider and Marcell Weasel Head will be joined by new council members Patrick Black Plume, John Little Bear, Elliot Fox, Kirby Many Fingers Beth Daychief, Franklyn White Quills and Kyla Crow Spreads His Wings.

Information on the newly elected chief and council including introductions and events will be shared at a later date.
