Kooper Gizowski scored with four seconds left in overtime to lift the Lethbridge Hurricanes to a 2-1 road victory over the Swift Current Broncos on Friday night.

Defencemen Logan McCutcheon and Tristen Doyle assisted on Gizowski’s game winner.

After a scoreless first, it was the Canes Wojtech Port that found the back of the net 9:21 into the middle frame from Luke Cozens and Trae Johnson.

Swift Current’s Parker Rondeau scored the equalizer on the powerplay at the 11:22 mark of the third period from Grayson Burzynski and Trae Wilke.

Canes goalie Jackson Unger stopped 29-of-30 shots to improve to 9-1 as a Hurricane.

Reid Dyck turned away 33-of-35 Canes shots in the Swift Current crease.

The Canes went 0-for-3 while the Broncos went 1-for-2 with the man advantage.

Unger, Dyck and Gizowski were named the three stars in that order from first to third.

The Hurricanes won the season series with a 3-1 record against the Broncos.

The Canes (22-14-1-1) continue their five-game road trip against the Moose Jaw Warriors tonight.

Lethbridge will look to wrap up the season series against the Warriors with a 5-0 record.
