The Lethbridge Hurricanes went a perfect 5-0 in their season series with the Moose Jaw Warriors after a 4-2 win on Saturday night in Moose Jaw.
Ethan Semeniuk opened the scoring 15:22 into the first period with an unassisted shorthanded goal to give the Warriors a 1-0 lead.
The Canes Shane Smith tied the game with just over a minute to go in the first period, when he bounced the puck over Warriors goalie Josh Banini for his sixth of the season.
Jordan Gustafson and Leo Braillard assisted on the goal.
Smith would then jam in a wraparound 14:34 into the second period to give Lethbridge a 2-1 lead.
Braillard and Noah Chadwick assisted on Smith’s second goal of the night.
Logan Wormald buried a wrist shot off a backhand pass from Cameron Norrie to give Lethbridge a 3-1 lead 17:17 into the middle frame.
Brayden Edwards also assisted on Wormald’s 21st goal of the season.
The Warriors made the score 3-2 when Aiden Ziprick cut into the slot and ripped it top shelf on Koen Cleaver with 38 seconds to go in the second period.
Riley Thorpe and Landen McFadden assisted on Ziprick’s 10th of the year.
Gustafson sealed the win with a shorthanded empty netter with four seconds to go in the game.
The Canes outshot the Warriors 45-22 in the game.
Both teams went 0-for-4 on the powerplay.
Lethbridge (23-14-1-1) is now 2-0 to start their five-game road trip and will face the Tri-City Americans on Wednesday night in the first of three games in the U.S. Division this week.
