Kris, beloved wife of Scott Barnouw of Calgary, AB, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on December 1, 2013 at the age of 45 years.
Kris is survived by her loving husband, Scott; precious children, Graham & Allison; parents, Pat & Gerrie Layton; brother and sister-in-law, Mike & Heather Layton; nephews, Connor & Adam Layton; Father-in-law, Ralph Barnouw; grandmothers, Mabel Garner and Bertha Coates; sister-in-law Beverley (George) Knowles and their children Ashley & Lindsey; as well as many aunts, uncles & cousins. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, Elmer Garner and Ron Coates; and mother-in-law, Connie Barnouw.
A Celebration of Kris’s Life will be held at Centre Street Church “Central Campus” (3900 – 2nd Street N.E. Marion Smyth passed away at the Pincher Creek Hospital on Saturday, November 30, 2013 at the age of 72 years.

MRS. DEBBIE PLOMP, beloved wife of Mr. Garry Plomp, of Lethbridge, passed away at the Foothills Medical Centre on Thursday, November 28th, 2013 at the age of 58 years.
Besides her loving husband of 33 years Debbie is survived by her Son Brandon Plomp and her Daughter Kim (Chris) Pregernig, as well as her Granddaughter Isabelle, the apple of her grandmothers’ eye. STANKO, HELEN MARGUERITE

December 1, 2013 – Calgary, AB
Helen Stanko, beloved wife of the late Michael Stanko of Calgary, passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2013 at the age of 88 years.
Helen was born under a bright blue sky and grew to adore the great Alberta vistas. She grew strong working on the family farm and after the death of her mother Julia Revak, looked after her father Andrew and youngest brother John.
She had a great love of music and often sang at home. Her voice was clear and sweet, but being quite shy, she rarely sang in public except in church, and then very softly. For her, singing was a way to find solace and heal those around her. Though she never had the opportunity to learn a musical instrument when she was young, she placed a high regard in musical talent and expression. Later in life she taught herself to play the organ and found great enjoyment in the simplest of tunes.
Helen loved to walk and, having never learned to drive, used that love to canvas on behalf of a number of charities, walking long distances in community service. As a longtime member of the CWL, she worked tirelessly to help others, finding great satisfaction and reward, and true joy in sharing stories with those around her. Never one to quit, she strove to overcome two strokes in the last year of her life, but ultimately grew weary and said goodbye to prairie skies and left this world for a better place.
She leaves behind sons Eric and Brian of Calgary, sisters-in-law Pauline Strickland, of Langley, BC, Annie Stanko and Rose Stanko of Lethbridge, AB, and a wealth of wonderful friends.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at St. Gerard’s Catholic Church (8944 Elbow Drive S.W., Calgary, AB) on Saturday, December 7, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. Condolences may be forwarded through
