a tie and three losses between the two teams that were playing league games over the weekend.
U18AAA
The U18AAA Canes had a tie followed by a loss.
Lethbridge tied the Calgary Royals 3-3 on Saturday.
Fynn Roersma, Damen Vanderberg and Hayden Iron Shirt scored for the Canes in the road tie.
Brody Rotar stopped 18-for-21 shots in the game for Lethbridge.
The U18 squad then lost to Okotoks 5-3 on Sunday.
Iron Shirt scored two and Colby Gulliver added one to supply the offence for Lethbridge.
Calder Graham stopped 28-of-32 shots in the Canes net.
U17AAA
The Headwater Hurricanes dropped a couple of close road games over the weekend.
Lethbridge opened with a 6-5 loss to the Calgary (NW) Flames on Saturday.
The Flames had a 6-0 lead until there was 2:29 to go in the game, before Lethbridge scored five straight goals in a 2:26 span and just fell short of the comeback.
Park Bishoff, Devin Groenenboom and Dawson Spence with a natural hat trick all scored within that 2:29.
Lucas Pasemko and Talyn Matthews combined for 45 saves on 51 shots.
The U17AAA’s followed that late game excitement with a 5-3 loss to Okotoks on Sunday.
Spence, Owen Demone and Landon Ward scored for the Canes in the loss.
Matthews stopped 38-of-43 shots in the loss.
