The University of Lethbridge Pronghorns women’s basketball team posted their third straight win Friday night.
The Horns downed the MacEwan Griffins 80-67 in Canada West play at the 1st Choice Savings Centre as Jessica Haenni had a 21-point night for Lethbridge.
With the win, the Horns move to 3-4.
On Friday night, the Pronghorns had to play some comeback back as the Griffins opened up a 35-29 halftime lead.
But Lethbridge outscored Grant MacEwan 22-8 in the third quarter and 29-24 in the fourth to post the win.
Haily Weaver and Savannah McMahon each added 12 points for the Pronghorns.
Weaver and Millay Johnson each had eight rebounds. Weaver also had five assists and Haenni and McMahon each had four.
The Pronghorns shot 43.7 per cent from the field and 47.1 from the three-point line. They were also a perfect 10-for-10 on free throws.
A score in the men’s game was unavailable at press time.
Action resumes tonight with the Pronghorns final games of the first semester, starting with the women’s game at 5 p.m. and the men following at 7 p.m.
