The Lethbridge U15 Val Matteotti Golden Hawks lost a pair of games to the Red Deer Rebels in a weekend homestand.
The Golden Hawks were topped 5-2 by the Rebels Saturday and 5-4 in the rematch Sunday in Alberta Elite Hockey League play at Nicholas Sheran Arena.
With the losses, the Golden Hawks are 2-15-0 on the season.
On Sunday, the teams swapped two second period goals as the Rebels held a 3-2 lead after 40 minutes before the visitors added one more in the third to earn the win and the 2-0 weekend.
Dominic Grieco and Hayden Iron Shirt were the Lethbridge goal scorers.
Seth Bird-Goodstriker stopped 39 of 42 shots in the loss.
The Rebels also held a 3-2 lead after two periods on Sunday before scoring two more in the third.
Kayson Christian and Grieco scored for the Golden Hawks.
Brylin Noble got the start in goal for Lethbridge, kicking out 43 of 48 shots.
The Golden Hawks are back home this weekend for two more games.
They host the Calgary Royals at 4:15 p.m. on Saturday at Nicholas Sheran Arena and are back at Nicholas Sheran Arena Sunday at noon when the Medicine Hat South East (SEAC) Tigers pay a visit.
