Kodiaks court teams eliminated

By Dale Woodard on March 8, 2022.

The Lethbridge College Kodiaks court sports came to an end last weekend in Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference play.

Playing under the new ACAC volleyball format with a team needing to win two single-elimination games to qualify for the conference’s final four, the Kodiaks women’s team won their first game Friday night over the SAIT Trojans at the Val Mateotti Gymnasium.

But facing the undefeated Red Deer Polytechnic Queens in the quarter-final Sunday in Red Deer, the Kodiaks were unable to make it two in a row, taking a set off the Queens, but still falling 3-1 to see their season come to an end.

The Kodiaks men’s volleyball team lost 3-1 to the SAIT Trojans Friday night in Calgary.

On the basketball court, both Kodiaks teams were dealt home losses Saturday night.

The Kodiak women lost 65-60 to SAIT, while the men were downed 86-76 by the Red Deer Kings.
