The Lethbridge Junior Bulls are off to a 2-0 start as hosts of the Junior Little League Canadian Championship.

After a lightning storm on Saturday forced the postponement of their opening game to Monday after three innings, the Bulls were right back at on Sunday and beat Team Alberta out of Medicine Hat 13-3 and followed up with an 8-2 win over Quebec in the completed game yesterday.

“It feels good,” said Bulls coach Zachary Goruk.

“We understand it’s a long tournament. But we came out the way we wanted to, got the first two wins, but we’ve got to take every day one day at a time. So we know there’s a lot of work to do but we’re happy with the start.”

Goruk said the biggest learning curve is dealing with the amount of fans.

“The guys are little a bit nervous but I think we dealt with it pretty well and I think we’re only going to get better as the tournament goes on and (they) get a little more comfortable.”

He thinks for the most part the team has been playing their game.

“There’s been a couple of mistakes we’ve been taken advantage of,” he said.

“But for the most part, I think we’ve earned everything we’ve gotten and we’ve been playing pretty well.”

The Bulls will play Team Ontario tonight at 7 p.m. at Spitz Stadium.
