The Lethbridge Therapeutic Riding Association will be hosting their 39th annual Joanne Perlich Ride for Dreams this weekend at Pavan Park.
“It’s one of our major fundraisers, to help us raise funds so we can offer more services with our horses to those that are wanting adaptive riding,” said Melody Garner-Skiba, president of LTRA.
She said it is an exciting time because it gives the opportunity for horse lovers to enjoy an afternoon of riding in Pavan Park on Saturday.
“It starts at noon at the top of Pavan Park and we’re going to head out on the trail, it’ll be about two hours and lunch will be provided,” said Garner-Skiba.
She said the event allows them to ride their horses while raising money for a great cause to help others.
Garner-Skiba said youth and adult riders are welcome and prizes will be awarded to those who raise the most money.
“As they raise more money, they’re eligible for a bigger gift card to Western Stockman so that’s part of our way of saying thank you,” said Garner-Skiba.
She said riders will also have the opportunity to have some fun by building a poker hand.
Garner-Skiba said those who are unable to ride can pledge for riders online.
LTRA is a charitable organization that is focused on providing healing through horses with therapeutic/adaptive riding, as well as the emerging field of equine facilitated wellness.
They support clients every day to find a path to physical, emotional, and mental healing with the help of equine partners.
