Suspect sought in robbery of Magrath bank

Raymond RCMP are seeking a male suspect who robbed a bank, identified by Herald sources as the local ATB Financial branch, in the Town of Magrath on Monday.

According to information released to the media, RCMP officers received a complaint from the bank at 2:40 p.m. that a suspect had jumped over the counter, confronted employees of the bank and obtained an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing the bank on foot.

No one was hurt in the incident, a spokesperson for the bank confirmed on Tuesday, but said no further comment would be forthcoming while police continued to investigate.

The suspect is described by police as being a white male, approximately six feet tall, wearing a tan-coloured jacket, blue jeans, tan work boots, and work gloves with orange and yellow colouring. The suspect was also wearing a black mask and sunglasses.
