More area events were cancelled on Monday due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Shaughnessy Community Hall announced Monday the facility will be closed until further notice, in keeping with AHS recommendations.
Numerous other local events have announced cancellations or postponements as part of COVID-19 precautions, including: the Alberta Genealogical Society, Lethbridge Branch’s meeting scheduled for March 19; the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta’s Friends of the Foundation Dinner scheduled for March 19; the PROBUS Club of Lethbridge meeting planned for March 20; a roast beef dinner set for March 20 at the Salvation Army Community Church; the Order of the Eastern Star Spring Tea scheduled for March 21; the Coaldale and District Chamber of Commerce awards banquet planned for March 21; the Lethbridge and District Music and Speech Arts Festival scheduled for March 23-April 4; the Southern Alberta Ethnic Association’s Taste of Nicaragua dinner slated for March 27; the fourth annual Seedy Saturday event set for the Interfaith Food Bank; the Wood’s Homes Children’s Benefit Gala scheduled for March 28; and the South Country Jamboree Society’s monthly jam session which was to take place March 29.
