Bogdan’s Boarding Kennel is assisting local individuals and families who are required to work on the frontlines during the COVID-19 pandemic by kennelling their dogs while at work at a discounted rate.

Bogdan Gorny, owner of Bogdan’s Boarding Kennel, says they have made the choice to board dogs for people who are working during the pandemic emergency and wants to help workers and seniors who may be forced to stay away from home for extended periods of time.

“There are a lot of front-line workers and they are stressed right now and they don’t know what to do with their animals, so we decided to inform everybody that we are open and we can take the dogs,” says Gorny. “We decided to operate at a discounted rate or free in some cases, but we have to go case by case.”

Bogdan’s Boarding Kennel’s facility was originally designed in a way that allows customers and faculty of the kennel to remain in separate areas when dropping off and picking up dogs, creating a “safe space” for a cleaner transfer and zero contact.

“We have created a special procedure, so there will be no contact with the customers coming and our crew. We have a separation zone where people can place the dog inside and some food which has to be in a special container and other items for the dog, and the customer will leave the zone so our crews can take the dog,” says Gorny. “There is no direct contact between customers and staff and it is very safe.”

While frontline workers from police officers, medical workers, fire and EMS, truckers, grocery store workers and other essential industries continue to provide service to the community, Bogdan’s Boarding Kennel is offering to provide a safe and clean environment for their dogs while they help serve the community. To learn more about their services and to book your dog and receive the detailed instructions for their current operations, contact Gorny at 403-380-8305, or by email at gorny@uleth.ca.
