LETHBRIDGE HERALD -STANDOFF
Due to the COVID-19 crisis, a State of Emergency has been declared on the Blood Reserve by Blood Tribe Chief and Council. A curfew will now be enforced to minimize the risk of community transmission, especially in the townsites.
Effective immediately, all youth under the age of 18 must stay at home between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m. unless they are with a parent or over caregiver in the communities of Standoff, Moses Lake and Levern, and generally on the Blood Reserve.
The curfew will be monitored by the Blood Tribe Foot Patrol as well as Blood Tribe Police and any youth found out during the curfew shall be sent home. Further enforcement provisions will be put in place if required.
Blood Tribe members are urged to continue the practice of social distancing and following all medical advice including washing hands and staying home as much as possible, even outside of the curfew hours.
