Amendment exempts family members from two-metre social distancing outdoors

Lethbridge Police advise that family members and unrelated individuals who reside in the same household, are exempt from the two-metre social distancing rule while outdoors.
Public Health Order 07-2020 prohibits the gathering of more than 15 people in a group in an outdoor location. It also specifies “any persons gathering in an outdoor location must maintain a minimum of two metres distance from one another.”
Effective Monday, the order has been amended and persons gathering in an outdoor location who are all members of the same household are exempt from the requirement to maintain two metres of distance.
For outdoor gatherings of 15 people or less who do not reside in the same household, maintaining two metres of distance is still required.
