The Lethbridge Electronic Music Festival (LEMF) organizing committee will be hosting an online fundraiser for the Lethbridge Interfaith Food Bank. DJs will perform via livestream for donations on Twitch.tv beginning Saturday afternoon.
“The surge of livestreams that are happening across the world right now inspired us to use our network and our community platform we’ve built over the years to give back to those that are in greater need,” said Riley Miller, a local DJ and one of the event’s organizers.
Viewers will hear the music of 11 DJs over the 10-hour stream, including the event’s headliner, DJ Smoothie.
“All the performers on the lineup have played at the LEMF festival before. Smoothie was out last year,” said Miller. “He is a DJ and live sax player from Vancouver.”
The livestream will also feature Sky Millz, DJ Marty, DJ Fuze, Napache, E3p0_dnb, Def Conn and Cricksta, who are all local artists.
“We’re really excited and we hope that people will tune in and enjoy some music and raise some money for the food bank,” said Miller.
The fundraiser begins Saturday at 2 p.m. and runs until midnight. Donations can be made to the Interfaith Food Bank’s PayPal account.
