Two Lethbridge men have now been charged with second-degree murder following a fight at a southside residence last week.

Jason Paul James Crane Chief was arrested on Friday after the victim, a 43-year-old man, was found dead April 27 in his apartment building in the 1200 block of 4 Avenue South. The second man charged, Justin Robert Adel White Cow, was arrested Tuesday without incident.

Police said that during the previous evening the victim had been inside his apartment socializing with acquaintances when the fight broke out and the victim sustained fatal injuries. When a friend went to the apartment the following day the victim was unresponsive and police were notified.

Both of the accused remain in custody and will appear in court on May 11 for a bail hearing.

Insp. Jason Walper of the Lethbridge Police Service said Monday during a news conference that drugs were present at the gathering and a weapon was used during the fight.

No additional suspects are being sought in relation to this matter, police say.

Police are not identifying the victim.
