Target Hunger volunteers still needed

By Sulz, Dave on May 27, 2020.

LETHBRIDGE HERALD

The “Target” date is fast approaching and organizers can still use some additional volunteer help.

Target Hunger, the annual city-wide food drive to benefit local food banks, will take place June 13 with volunteers collecting food donations throughout Lethbridge. The food drive will help stock the shelves at the Lethbridge Food Bank and Interfaith Food Bank.

Volunteers are needed to collect food donations along assigned routes, and others are needed to sort food at one of the food banks on event day. As of last week, there were 18 routes still to be assigned in West Lethbridge, just over 20 routes on the southside, and just over 40 routes on the northside. Volunteers can sign up at http://www.targethunger

lethbridge.com.

The annual food drive will be conducted while complying with all health measures and social distancing recommended by Alberta Health Services to ensure a safe event for all participants.

For more information, email: targethunger.volunteer@gmail.com to connect with Target Hunger co-ordinators, or contact either food bank: Lethbridge Food Bank, 403-320-1879, or Interfaith Food Bank, 403-320-8779.
