A man caught last year with weapons and drugs is going to spend some time behind bars.

Kyle Richard Pace was sentenced to three months in jail after he pleaded guilty Wednesday in Lethbridge provincial court to three counts of drug possession and several weapon charges.

Court was told the Blood Tribe police received a complaint July 26, 2019 about possible drug activity in a parking area on the reserve. Police investigated the report and found a vehicle that matched the description given by the complainant. While police talked to Pace, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, they noticed a rifle inside the truck and an open bottle of liquor.

Pace was arrested, and during a search of the vehicle, police found about 200 rounds of ammunition, $1,285 in cash, a rifle, brass knuckles, a baton, 2.1 grams of cocaine, .8 grams of fentanyl and 1.5 grams of psilocybin, a.k.a. magic mushrooms.

In addition to his jail sentence, Pace is prohibited from possessing certain weapons for 10 years and others for life. He also forfeits to the Crown the drugs and weapons seized by police.
