VOLUNTEER LETHBRIDGE – KEEP IN TOUCH VOLUNTEER CALLERS
Do you want to connect with the community and make a difference? Do you have an hour or 2 a week to talk on the phone? Volunteers in the Keep In Touch program make friendly weekly phone calls to community members feeling lonely and socially disconnected. INTERFAITH FOOD BANK SOCIETY – PICK-ROOM SET UP VOLUNTEERS
Interfaith Food Bank is committed to recognizing the human dignity of those in need and providing food and access to services and resources generated from within our community. They are looking for general volunteers who will sort through bread and produce, sweep and mop pick-room, and set up pick-room ensuring it is properly stocked with designated food items for their clients. SOUTHERN ALBERTA ART GALLERY – BOARD OF DIRECTORS VOLUNTEERS
As a leader in our community, SAAG fosters the work of contemporary artists who challenge boundaries. They encourage broad public engagement and promote awareness and exploration of artistic expression. Their work extends to local, national, and international communities. SAAG is seeking community members interested in joining their Board of Directors. Join their team of dedicated and passionate Board Members, staff and volunteers. They are now accepting applications to fill two Director positions. There will be a one year term available starting as soon as a successful candidate is voted onto the Board. CANADIAN RED CROSS SOCIETY – EMERGENCY RESPONSE TEAM (ERT) RESPONDER
The Canadian Red Cross Society, a non-profit humanitarian organization dedicated to helping Canadians, as well as the most vulnerable throughout the world. They are accepting applications for Emergency Response Team (ERT) Responder volunteer positions in the Disaster Management (DM) department. Reporting to the ERT Supervisor, the ERT Responder will be responsible for various emergency shelter and reception centre response activities in addition to other responsibilities related to emergency preparedness. The (ERT) is activated for responses that exceed Personal Disaster Assistance (PDA) capacity. The incumbent of this position will be assigned to deliver a specific service on site during a response, however, must know how to deliver all services at the ERT level. A Police Check is required. STREETS ALIVE MISSION – SORTING VOLUNTEERS
Streets Alive Mission exists to provide for the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of the poor, to empower them to change their lives through the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Streets Alive requires volunteers to help them sort donated items at the Community Donation Centre. Times are available through the day. Please call Cam at 403-320-1159 if you’re able to help.

CANADIAN CANCER SOCIETY – CIBC RUN FOR THE CURE VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE
The Canadian Cancer Society is a national, community-based organization of staff and volunteers whose mission is the eradication of cancer and the enhancement of the quality of life of people living with cancer. They are looking for committee members who will take part in planning and organizing the Run. Committee members will meet and plan virtually over the next six months. Volunteers must have access to and be comfortable with using a computer. In-person availability is needed for the week leading up to Run day and on the Run day. References are required. CEDAR CREEK ADAPTACARE –VOLUNTEERS TO UPLIFT SENIORS
Cedar Creek Adaptacare provides seniors with a specialized nursing and personal care living facility. They arelooking for volunteers who would be interested in lifting the spirits of their resident seniors by dropping off or mailing letters, cards and postcards to their center. BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS – TEEN MENTORSHIP PROGRAM VOLUNTEERS
Big Brothers Big Sisters mission is to enable life changing mentoring relationships to ignite the power and potential of young people. Calling all teens! This is a great opportunity for teens to dip their toe into the waters of volunteer work. Teens are matched to a child from the nearest elementary school, where they meet weekly for 10-15 sessions. All sessions are supervised and facilitated by an agency caseworker. Teens connect with their “Little” by eating snacks, playing games and doing crafts together. This is a great way to gain experience, help a child and fill up those empty white spaces on your resume! They are currently recruiting for the fall session.
